The Baron's Men's spring show, As You Like It, features a wonderful mix of Sharers, Players, and new friends to the Troupe! 

Join us weekends in April to follow our hero Rosalind (Kate Clark) as she flees persecution in her aunt’s (Samantha Smith) court, by transforming herself into the keen young gentleman Ganymede. Rosalind is accompanied by her cousin Celia (Jacquelyn Lies) to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden. In the forest, they encounter a variety of other memorable characters, most notably the melancholy traveler Jaques (Robert Deike) who speaks many of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches, such as “All the world’s a stage.”

Baron's Men newcomer Travis Hagan re-arranged the song "A Lover and His Lass" from the play, using elements of extant versions of the song. This historically appropriate tune, as well as many others, will be beautifully performed by a chorus of forest lords and ladies led by Gene Storie, Mary Menter, Erin O'Donnell, and Logan Smith.

The run of As You Like It offers two additional opportunities for audience engagement.

  • We will be hosting Arden Academy, a full night of programming for educational groups on April 7. Arden Academy will feature a stage fighting demonstration before the show, reserved seating, and a talkback with the cast and crew afterwards. Email producer@thebaronsmen.org to discuss special education group pricing options.
  • On April 8, Under the Greenwood Tree promises a fun event that pairs the show with a delicious dinner under the branches of The Curtain Theatre’s historic pecan tree grove while being entertained by members of the cast.
