Winner of B. Iden Payne Awards for Best Musical, Best Actress and Best Director

Doctuh Mistuh Production is pleased to bring back SILENCE THE MUSICAL, the Off-Broadway musical parody of "The Silence of the Lambs."

With unforgetable tunes like "If I Could Smell Her C*nt", "Are You About a Size 14", and "Put the F**king Lotion in the Basket" you'll want to enjoy it with fava beans and a nice chianti. (Did we mention the Hannibal/Clarice Dream Ballet??)

Amy Downing, Libby Dees-Detling, Huck Huckaby, David Ponton and Matt Connelly will be returning to the fold.  We are also welcoming new cast members Andrew Cannata, Scott Shipman, Kathryn Lane, Ryan Wilson and Brian DeFilippo.

WARNING!!!!!  This production contains adult themes and language.  If it were a film, it might be rated PG 15.  On the other hand, there is nothing in it that you can't say on cable.

After its successful run in 2014, Doctuh Mistuh Productions will be bringing SILENCE! THE MUSICAL back to Austin, Texas for a three week run, August 18 through September 4.  DMP will be remounting the revival at Austin Playhouse in Highland Mall.  Amy Downing will be reprising her award-winning performance as Clarice Starling.  She will be joined by original cast members Huck Huckaby (Hannibal), David Ponton (Buffalo Bill), Libby Dees Detling (Catherine & Senator Martin), and Matt Connely (Papa Schtarling).  New cast members include Andrew Cannata (Dr. Chilton), Scott Shipman (Jack Crawford), Jessica O’Brien (Ardelia Mapp), Kathryn Lane (Dream Clarice) and Brian DeFilippo (Dream Hannibal).  The production will be stage and music directed by DMP Artistic Director Michael McKelvey.

SILENCE! features music and lyrics by Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan, and book by Hunter Bell, and is the unauthorized parody of the film, The Silence of the Lambs.

Warning!!!:  This production contains adult themes and language.  If it were a film, it may be rated PG 15.  On the other hand, there is nothing in it that you can't say on cable.

The project began in 2003 as an internet musical made up of nine songs that retold the entire story of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. The audio tracks became popular to the extent that a live show was conceived and staged. Six additional songs were written by Jon & Al Kaplan, and the book was written by Hunter Bell (Title of Show) based on the original screenplay Silence! The Musical, also by the Kaplans.

The stage musical premiered in the Lucille Lortel Theatre, New York, on August 12, 2005 as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.  Silence! had its European premiere in London on October 19, 2009, showing for two weeks at the Barons Court Theatre.  An off-Broadway mounting of the show opened June 24-September 26, 2011 at Theatre 80, It transferred to the 9th Space Theatre at PS 122 on October 24, 2011.  The musical reopened on January 18, 2013 at the Elektra Theatre, in New York City's Times Square, through August 13.  Silence! played 67 performances at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles in late 2012.

The production has yielded awards and accolades such as Outstanding Musical (New York Internation Fringe Festival), Best New Musical (Off Broadway Alliance), and Top Ten Plays and Musicals (Time Magazine).
