Directed by Marisela Barrera and developed by Jump-Start Performance Co., "Oscuridad" explores the darkness lying just beneath the surface of everyday life. Set in a cantina along the edges of obscurity, "Oscuridad" tells the story of Luz, the proprietor, who is loosing the bar at dawn and displacing the neighborhood's shadowy characters: La Lechuza will need to find a new rooftop to haunt; Fantasma will loose his audience; El Señor will despair in his immortality alone; the Handless Maid will be out of work; La Muerte's job will be done.
The performance is a devised original work, created through a rehearsal process of performance experiments, improvisation, and story-sharing.
