Considered one of the most powerful and influential works of world literature, The Tragedy of Hamlet has become one of the most beloved and performed shows in Shakespeare’s canon. It was also the most popular Shakespeare play during his lifetime.

Set in the late middle ages, the story of Hamlet begins when the prodigal son (Hamlet) returns home to find his father dead and his mother remarried to his father’s brother. After being visited by the ghost of his father, sharing portents of his murder, Hamlet devises a plan to exact revenge on those he holds responsible.
