The Glass Menagerie
by Austin Shakespeare

Feb. 17 - Feb. 20, 2022
Thursday-Sunday

Enjoy the emotion-packed charge and nostalgic laughter of Tennessee Williams’ memory play The Glass Menagerie, when Austin Shakespeare returns to the intimate Rollins Theatre.

Journey with Williams, the young poet, who tangles with his lively Southern mother, played by the acclaimed Franchelle S. Dorn, and his sensitive, beloved sister Laura, played by the versatile Khali Sykes. Now portrayed as an African-American family, the cast also features Marc Pouhé as Tom, the Narrator, and Kenah Benefield as the Gentleman Caller. This play features some of the American playwright’s most imagistic and rhythmic language.

Directed by Ann Ciccolella with projections by L.B. Bartholomee. Lighting by Patrick W. Anthony. Costumes by Aaron Kubacak. Live violin accompaniment by Bennie Braswell. Treat yourself, your friends and family to share a profound experience in the theater.

This will be a costumed, staged reading.

Audio feature by Michael Lee, KUT-FM (2 min.)
