Creative Action
Through interactive classroom performances, after school arts residencies and community-based programs, Creative Action’s team of professional Teaching Artists inspire youth to be Creative Artists, Courageous allies, Critical Thinkers, and Confident Leaders.
We believe that when youth develop their creativity, compassion, confidence and critical thinking skills, and build meaningful connections with peers and positive role-models, they become successful adults who contribute to their communities and thrive in their careers and relationships.
Creative Action is a nonprofit, arts-based, youth development organization that provides hands-on, fun, creative learning programs in classrooms, in after school settings, and in the community. We reach more than 20,000 youth and the adults who care for them each year.
Our programs are designed to help participants gain the critical life skills, knowledge and strategies necessary to become innovative, successful adults in the 21st Century. Our curriculum gives students the ability to succeed later in life – on the job, in their personal relationships, and in the community.
We design our programs from the leading best practices in arts education, Creative Youth Development, and Social and Emotional Learning. Our staff and top education professionals from across the country train our team of 80+ Teaching Artists year-round on topics such as arts-based instructional strategies, youth development, social and emotional development, classroom culture and social justice education.
We evaluate all of our programs rigorously through a platform of instruments and incorporate the Youth Program Quality Assessment system created by the Weikart Center to evaluate program quality.
