Austin Shakespeare will audition for ROMEO & JULIET on Saturday, Feb. 24 starting at 1 pm. Actors must schedule an appointment. Equity and non-Equity actors please send headshot and resume to auditions@austinshakespeare.org. Performances will be at the Curtain Theater Free to the public. Rehearsals begin on April 22 weeknights and weekends. Performances: May 23-June 9. All actors are paid. Prepare a 1-2 minute Shakespeare speech from any play. Reading the text with familiarity is accepted. Austin Shakespeare hires under Actors’ Equity SPT1 contract.
Actors of diverse ethnicities and genders are welcome. Fencing/fighting/dancing abilities are helpful. No roles are pre-cast. Actors of varying ages are welcome. Director, Ann Ciccolella. Roles include: Romeo, Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, Lady Capulet, Lord Capulet, Mercutio, Benvolio, Tybalt and the Prince.
