Auditions for a role in upcoming season with Austin Shakespeare on Aug 20.Austin Shakespeare will begin actor season auditions from 1 pm on Saturday Aug. 20, 2023 at Tapestry Dance Studios 2015 E. Riverside Dr., Austin.
Appt required; email auditions@austinshakspeare.org.
Diverse ethnicities encouraged. This audition is for Equity and Non-Equity actors who have not performed in an Austin Shakespeare show before.
Monologues of two minutes or less can be memorized or read with familiarity.
Two main stage shows will be presented at the Rollins Studio theater at the Long Center. First show Fri. Nov. 10-Nov 26, 2023 (no performance on Thanksgiving day but on Wed Nov. 22). Second show Fri, Feb. 16-March 3, 2024.
Summer Shakespeare play dates TBA. Directed by Ann Ciccolella.
LOCAL ACTORS ONLY: no housing or transportation available. Austin Shakespeare hires under Actor’s Equity union contract SPT1 (small professional theater company) using two Equity actors, an Equity Stage Manager.
All actors receive some pay. If you can’t make this in person, you are welcome to send email a monologue video, headshot and resume.
