The Professionals revolves around the madness that ensues behind the scenes during a performance of a play we never see called Egg Fear. Ridiculous drama is the order of the day as understudies and second understudies battle for the part of an actress who may have Dengue Fever; as the lead actress and actor vie for the attentions of the lawyer/agent they share and who is bullied by them both; as the lead actor’s girlfriend visits, performing her atrocious magic tricks; as a bewildered sandwich delivery girl tries to make friends; and as the increasing desperate Stage Manager tries to keep Egg Fear afloat.

True love may be in the air and real magic seems to be possible despite the illusions perpetrated by all of the characters.  A slightly wacky and offbeat comedy that nonetheless asks real questions about the nature and relationship of love and magic.
