Deco Gala

The Woodlawn Theatre will unveil its much-anticipated 2015 season, song-by-song, as actors perform a number from each production at the theatre’s first ever, annual gala on Saturday, September 6 in the Swing Room at the Old San Francisco, 10223 Sahara Street. In addition, talented, young actors from the Academy for the Performing Arts will be showcased in a performance.
The event raises funds to continue to improve the cultural landscape of San Antonio with award-winning productions and youth programs at the historic theatre. “Ticket sales only cover a small portion of a theatre’s operating budget,” says Kurt Wehner, executive director of the Woodlawn. “The Woodlawn has become known for its outstanding productions and educational offerings, which have included bringing in well-known Broadway professionals to work with our students and actors. The funds from the gala will help us continue to be able to provide such deep and rich experiences in our local community.”
A silent auction at the event includes a variety of items including theatre vacation packages to New York and London and jewelry and fine gifts from Kendra Scott and Ben Adams.
The 2014 Deco Gala committee members include Melissa B. Gonzalez, David Blazer, Rebecca Trinidad, Megan Marold, Kristen McKee, Greg Hinojosa and Kim Ross.
Individual tickets include dinner, open bar and entertainment for $125 and can be purchased online at www.woodlawntheatre.org/gala. Table sponsorships for $1,200 can be reserved by emailing kristen@woodlawntheatre.org. Table Sponsorships include premier seating table for 10 at the gala and listings in playbills for all Woodlawn Theatre 2015 mainstage productions, in the gala program and on the gala website.
