Henry 4.1
by Walking Shadow Shakespeare Project
Nov. 06 - Nov. 22
Walking Shadow Shakespeare Project and Austin Scottish Rite Theater invite you to join 30 Austin artists in an innovative choose-your-own-adventure version of Henry 4.1. Three branches of Austin’s exciting music scene have inspired this adaptation: Outlaw Country, Indie Dance, and Hardcore Punk. You decide the Henry you will follow for the first 20 minutes: Will it be the powerful but exhausted King Henry 4 (outlaw country)? The rowdy and avoidant Prince Hal (indie dance)? Or perhaps the fiery, impassioned Hotspur (hardcore punk)? All groups will then come together to experience the rest of the show.
The show’s run will be split across two locations, the Austin Scottish Rite Theater and How Much?! Studios. See below for more information.
Accessibility: ASL interpretation, Live English Captioning, Audio Description, fidget cubes, masks
About Walking Shadow Shakespeare Project
Walking Shadow is a non-profit 501(c)(3) theatre company whose mission is to unite classical texts with a contemporary community through innovative and accessible productions, social events and educational opportunities. We performed our first production Much Ado About Nothing in 2011 in Massachusetts, and since then have mounted full Shakespearean productions across three states, hosted zoom performances through lockdown, developed one-rehearsal and interactive education show formats, and brought our communities together through community events and workshops.
