Wild Card Frankenstein
by Communication by Captivation
Oct. 22 - Oct. 31
Thursdays-Saturdays
A Monstrously Funny Show Experience— with a Wild Card Twist! 🃏✨
Step into the lab where lightning crackles, egos clash, and chaos reigns—this isn’t Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as you remember it. It's Wild Card Frankenstein
Now imagine all that madness unfolding inside a hip, vibey kava root bar. That’s right—we’re bringing the monster to SquareRut Kava Bar, where the drinks are chill and the comedy is anything but.
Welcome to a gothic world of twisted genius, misunderstood monsters, and hilariously inappropriate interruptions…
Because this isn’t just a show—it’s been hijacked by a deck of Cards Against Humanity™.
If you’ve ever played Cards Against Humanity™, you already know the possibilities are endless.
YOU may even get the chance to:
- Disrupt the experiment by playing a card of your own—sending the creation in an unexpected direction.
- Alter the fate of the Monster in real time as science, chance, and hubris collide.
- Push Victor, the Creature, and the world around them completely off the rails (lovingly), one shock of electricity at a time. ⚡🧪
Join us for an interactive, darkly comedic, Halloween-season performance game show—definitely not for all ages—that’ll leave you howling with laughter and wondering what on earth you just witnessed.
This show will DEFINITELY contain adult language, themes, and context.
Who Are We?
Communication By Captivation (CBC) is an in-person and online community of multimedia artists—from cartoonists to live performers—working together to create deeply meaningful (and wildly entertaining) storytelling.
You may have seen some of CBC’s recent Austin theatre productions, including:
Frank’s Life, Glengarry Glen Ross, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and last year’s Theater Against Humanity Series!
We welcome all who want to challenge themselves to captivate an audience’s heart and soul, collaborate on stories bigger than any one person, and—through it all—have fun.
CBC is fully self- and patron-funded and does not accept government grants.
