Soulful Black Wall Street Musical is a powerful, music driven journey through the rise, resilience, and enduring legacy of Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District, once known as Black Wall Street. Written and produced by Kay Francis Bell, this original production blends soul stirring music, dynamic storytelling, and rich cultural history to honor a community that thrived against all odds.
Set in the early 1900s, the musical celebrates the brilliance, entrepreneurship, and unity of Greenwood’s residents while also confronting the tragic events that sought to silence them. Through unforgettable characters and a score rooted in gospel, jazz, and soul, the story captures both the joy of a flourishing community and the strength it took to rebuild and remember.
This production is more than a musical. It is a tribute. A testament to legacy, perseverance, and the power of storytelling to keep history alive.
