The two naughty Banks children, Jane (Rebekah Upton) and Michael (Parker Greer), live with their father George (David Case) and mother Winifred (Sarah Howe). Havingfrightened away previous nannies, a series of events results in the magical appearance of Mary Poppins (Lauren Moore), who promptly takes things in hand. Mary, along with her chimney-sweeping friend Bert (Korede Alabi in his TTC debut), helps the Banks family—and the rest of us—remember the importance of families, both close and extended; kindness; caring for one another; and remaining true to oneself.

Based on books by P. L. Travers and the iconic 1964 Disney film with Julie Andrews and

Dick Van Dyke, the show includes familiar tunes such as

“A Spoonful of Sugar,

” “Chim

Chim Cher-ee,

”

and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

” MARY POPPINS: THE

BROADWAY MUSICAL was nominated for several prestigious awards. It remains one of

the longest-running Broadway shows.
