Screaming into the Void Theater Festival: Pandemic Diaries
Jump-Start brings a new theater festival for the new year with new dramatic and poetic works from the San Antonio community.
Jump-Start company member and Festival director/producer Holly Nañes says, “I wanted to offer an opportunity for writers to share their reflections on mental wellness during the COVID-19 pandemic, and then to see their work transferred to the stage. Each selected play or poem features characters who are struggling to either process loss or escape chaos. The writers have worked in a range of styles, but what the stories share is a basis in (mostly) true recollections of lived experiences.”
Festival writers include Rita Anderson, Jacqueline Velez, Alex Ramirez and Holly Nañes. The acting ensemble is Lillie Gonzales, Isaac Gutierrez, Georgette Lockwood, Alyssa Lopez, Janie Sauceda, Salvador Valadez and Jacqueline Velez. Stage manager is Sarah Tijerina.

Screaming into the Void runs Friday and Saturday, February 18 and 19, 2022 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, February 20 at 3 PM CST at 710 Fredericksburg Rd. San Antonio, TX 78201.
An encore showing will be streamed online Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, 2022 at 8:00 PM.
Admission is at each audience member’s discretion to “choose-what-you-pay”: $0, $5, $10, $15 or $20.
With safety in mind, theater seating is limited and wearing masks is encouraged. For the online audience, a link will be emailed to ticket holders before the shows on the 25th and 26th.
