Watch Narnia come to life as "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" opens at Sam Bass Community Theatre, the premiere theatrical venue for Round Rock, Texas brings the magical land of Narnia to life when "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" opens at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 23.
Based on the classic C.S. Lewis tale, Joseph Robinette's "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" tells the story of the four Pevensie children, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter, who travel through a magical wardrobe in an eccentric professor's mansion to find themselves in a land full of talking lions, beavers, unicorns, centaurs and other creatures. They also find themselves in the midst of a battle between the noble lion Aslan and the devious White Witch for control of the realm.
Director Laura Vohs, her crew, and a cast of more than 25 adults and children bring all of the classic's memorable and exciting episodes to life: the witch's temptation of Edmund, Peter's battle with the evil wolf, the crowning of the Narnia's new rulers and more. Even Father Christmas makes an appearance!
Filled with plenty of humor, the production also features intense action including chases, duels and escapes as the witch plots to end the reign of Aslan and keep Narnia in her possession. This story of love, faith, courage and giving — with its theme of good vs. evil — is a true celebration of life and the perfect family production for the holiday season.
The cast includes Krista Tyler as Aslan and Deborah Hanna as the rival White Witch. Giselle Tyler, Hayden Henry, Shae Carter and Nicholas Foran portray the Pevensie children — Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter. Kerry Coward and Jeanie Floyd play Mr. and Mrs, Beaver, and Darian Hodge portrays Tumnus, the faun.
The Unicorn (Gabrielle Ledesma) and Centaur (Gwen Hanna) share the Sam Bass stage with Fenris Ulf (Victoria Piland); the Dwarf (Samantha Chamrad); the Elf (Corinne Wyche) and the White Stag (Ethan Blevins). The cast is completed by the Mice (Holly Westrick, Addy Blevins); the Fox (Shayna Salitsky); the Witch’s Army (Rebekah Lewis, Eli Blevins, Stephanie Carter, Ethan Blevins) and the Wood Nymphs (Abigail Lewis, Palm Westrick, Madelyn Twardowski).
