Austin Playhouse is casting the final three roles in our upcoming production of "Satchel Paige and the Kansas City Swing."
All roles are for African American actors. AEA and non-Equity welcome.
We'll be scheduling auditions asap until the roles are filled. Interested actors should email info@austinplayhouse.com.
The play opens on February 12 and runs through March 6.
Roles available:
BUCK O'NEIL, a ballplayer, 36, a solid figure, a good friend to Satchel. Will eventually make history as a coach.
ART YOUNG, a black ballplayer, 19. Originally from Georgia. Tremendously talented and cocky, impatient and wants acceptance into the major leagues bad!
MOIRA HOPKINS, MRS. HOPKINS’ 17 year-old daughter. She's pretty, a young and flirty spirit, an up-and-coming singer. Talented and ambitious.
