The Last Night of Ballyhoo
by Paradox Players
Aug. 15 - Aug. 16 (2016)
Atlanta, Georgia, December 1939: Lala Levy is gaga over the world premiere of Gone With the Wind. Her mother, Boo, is much more concerned about who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season for Atlanta's elitist German Jewish community. Hitler's invasion of Poland is a distant news that will soon take on more immediacy. Events take several ironic and unexpected turns with the arrival of Joe, a Brooklyn born Jew of Eastern European heritage. The characters are forced to face their own prejudices in their search for identity.
