Chaotic
by Bottle Alley Theatre Company

May. 31 - Jun. 01 (2016)

Chaotic is a non-linear experimental piece revolving around the theme of honesty and restraint. The play seeks to explore the precise moment that we check ourselves before we let loose a scream, or begin crying, or want to break something - and, more importantly, what happens when we free ourselves of our self-imposed restraints and let the honesty flow in all it's glorious ferocity. Additionally, Chaotic explores the boundaries of the relation between the audience and the performer, the difference between the performer and the real person, and the performer and the physical space surrounding them.

Bottle Alley Theatre Company shall be holding auditions for their world premiere production of Chaotic, the first show of our fourth season.

Performance dates have yet to be announced, but shall take place sometime in August. We operate on a very laid back rehearsal schedule consisting of Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Bottle Alley Theatre Company is an independent, experimental theatrical company that has been staging original work in all manner of odd places since 2012. Our work aspires to be stripped down, raw, visceral, and shall always aspire to be thought-provoking while maintaining our always present sense of honesty onstage. We believe that rehearsals, and the process at large, should be fun and worth your time.

We firmly believe that all artists should be paid to do the thing that they love and therefore our performers are paid, and will always be paid, a small stipend upon the conclusion of each show. It usually winds up not being very much at all, but the profits from the show are divided and distributed equally to the performers.

Still interested? Here is how to audition:

Auditions for Chaotic will take place BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the evenings of Tuesday, May 31st and (if necessary) Wednesday, June 1st beginning at 7 pm. Auditions will take place at Space Rehearsal and Recording, located at 7915 Manchaca Rd. You only need to attend one of the sessions, but attending both is recommended if possible.

To set up an appointment to audition please email your resume and headshot to writer/director Chris Fontanes at cmfontanes@gmail.com to express your interest. If you don't have a resume or a headshot, that is okay too. What will happen next is you'll receive (via email) a copy of the script for you to read. If, having read it, you'll be set up with an audition slot and receive further instructions on what the actual audition will consist of and what you'll need to prepare. We have you read the script first as it is important, with original work, to know exactly what you are getting into.

Spots are very limited, and are on a first come first serve basis.
