Set in turn of the century Sweden, A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler plores the tangled web of affairs centered around famed and fading actress Desirée Armfeldt and the men who love her: a lawyer by the name of Fredrik Egerman and the Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm. When both men — as well as their wives — agree to join Desirée and her family for a weekend in the country, lovers reunite, simmering passions reignite, and new romances blossom. This witty and enchanting Tony award-winning musical features a beautiful, lush score by beloved composer Stephen Sondheim and writer Hugh Wheeler.

Austin Playhouse is holding auditions on Saturday, February 20. A Little Night Music runs May 27 - June 26, 2016 at Austin Playhouse. The show will be directed by Don Toner with musical direction by Lyn Koenning. AEA and non-AEA welcome. All performers will be compensated. Please note, the role of Fredrik is pre-cast.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Please sing an audition cut no more than two minutes long of a classical musical theatre selection (Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, etc.) and preferably not from the show. Have your sheet music clearly marked, in the correct key, and in a 3-ring binder with pages copied double-sided to minimize page turns. An accompanist will be provided; there will be no a capella auditions.
