The Play That Goes Wrong
by Hill Country Arts Foundation (HCAF)
Mar. 29 - Mar. 31
Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, a 1920s murder mystery put on by the hopelessly inept Cornley Drama Society. The problem? Everything that can go wrong, DOES go wrong! Set pieces collapse, lines are forgotten, props go missing, and the actors struggle to keep things (barely) together—resulting in non-stop, gut-busting comedy.
Auditions March 29, 2025 @ 11 AM & March 31, 2025 @ 6:30 PM
Plays June 6 - 21, 2025
Directed by Treston Woods.
Roles Available:
Chris (The Director/Inspector Carter) – The desperate director trying to keep the show afloat while playing the lead detective. Spirals from frustration to full-blown panic.
Robert (Thomas Colleymoore) – Over-the-top and dramatic, Robert throws himself into every scene—sometimes literally.
Dennis (Perkins, the Butler) – Earnest but completely clueless, Dennis mispronounces half his lines and doesn’t realize how bad he is.
Max (Cecil Haversham/Arthur the Gardener) – Excited beyond reason to be onstage, Max soaks up the audience’s attention and plays to the crowd.
Sandra (Florence Colleymoore) – The overly dramatic leading lady who refuses to let mishaps stop her. Also not afraid to literally fight for her moment in the spotlight.
Annie (The Stage Manager) – Meant to stay behind the scenes but forced onstage. At first reluctant, she soon embraces the chaos.
Trevor (The Lighting & Sound Tech) – Doesn’t care about the show at all… until things go horribly wrong and he’s pulled in.
Jonathan (Charles Haversham) – The "dead" body that refuses to stay still. Endures endless physical comedy disasters.
This show is fast, physical, and wildly funny, so we need actors with great comedic timing, high energy, and a love for slapstick!
Think you have what it takes to survive the disaster? Then don’t miss your chance to be part of this riotous, award-winning comedy!
