2024-2025 SEASON GENERAL AUDITIONS
Austin Shakespeare season auditions begin for 3 full productions, 1 staged reading and 2 cabarets. Auditions for Non-Equity actors begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 24 at Tapestry Dance Studios at 2015 E. Riverside, Make an appointment through auditions@austinshakespeare.org.
Select a 1-2 min monologue of “heightened language” (or two contrasting speeches) memorized (or can be read with familiarity). Welcoming all ethnicities and genders. Age is a matter of appearance. Those who are interested in the cabarets should bring a recorded accompaniment or sing acapella.
Those who cannot attend can submit 1-2 min videos with “heightened language” using the submission form below through the audition date using the button below.
All roles are paid positions. Rehearsals for season productions are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 pm -10:00 pm, Saturdays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and Sundays 5:00 - 9:00 pm

JANE EYRE

This is a new Jane Eyre script devised by the Old Vic Bristol/National Theatre of Great Britain, performed for the first time in the US Most roles will consist of multiple characters, except Jane Eyre. Also seeking musicians as actors especially those with skills in percussion, keyboard, or bass (electric or acoustic).

Helen Burns / Adele / Grace Pool (ages 25 to 39)

Mrs Reed / Mrs Fairfax (ages 30 and up)
MAHABHARATA TALES
First rehearsal: January 13, 2025
Opening: February 14, 2025
Closing: February 23, 2025
Particularly seeking actors of MENSA backgrounds (South Asian, Middle Eastern) but welcoming divergent ethnicity. Dance, stage combat and percussion experience is a plus.

The role of Caesar is already cast. Women are encouraged to audition for all other major roles in Julius Caesar. This is an outdoor Free Shakespeare production.
