The Miser

The miser Harpagon wishes his daughter Elise to marry a wealthy old man, Anselme, who will accept her without a dowry, but she loves the penniless Valère. Harpagon himself has set his eye on young, impoverished Marianne, whom his son Cléante also loves.

Valére - servant, lover of Elise (Any age)
Marianne - love interest of Harpagon and Cléante (Age 18-25)
Anselme - betrothed to Elise (Age 40+)
La Fléche - Valet to Cléante (Any age)
Master Jacques - cook and coachman to Harpagon (Any age)
Frosine - matchmaker (Any age)
Mr.Simon - Broker/servant (Any age)
