Call for Video Submissions: The Alchemy Theatre’s Holiday Cabaret, Austin, TX
Seeking: Austin local actor/singers of all ages (18+), ethnicities, gender identities, body types, and abilities, for The Alchemy Theatre’s Holiday Cabaret! We are looking for storytellers who can connect genuinely with an audience in the style of a cabaret artist or nightclub performer. Fun, grounded, outgoing, flirty, commanding, comedic. All types. Vocally comfortable singing.
Self-Tape Preparation: Please prepare a brief holiday song of your choosing. Include a hook (something to grab our attention), brief patter (storytelling that will segue into the song) followed by the holiday song (to accompaniment/karaoke track). Consider a cohesive through-line to weave together the hook, patter, and song. Keep videos around 3 minutes. For example: 1-minute hook and patter, 2-minute song. Have fun with it!

Submission deadline: October 3, 2022 at 5 pm. In-person callbacks will be scheduled on or around October 7, 2022.
Rehearsals:
Select Friday rehearsals beginning October 21
Tech/Previews: November 27-December 1
Opening: December 2
Closing: December 17 (Possible extension to December 23)
The Alchemy Theatre’s Holiday Cabaret will perform on Friday and Saturday nights.
Contract:
Non-Union. Stipend.
