Just Friends

One man. One woman. Best friends. They have one thing in common: They’ve watched a lot of romcom films. What happens when a series of events mimic the movies they’ve bonded over? Will it end their friendship or will it lead to something more?
Find out in this homage to romantic comedies written and directed by Jessica Roberts.
The Overtime Theater is seeking a male actor between the ages of 18-28 to play the role of Michael in its upcoming production of "Just Friends," a romantic comedy written and directed by Jessica Roberts.
MICHAEL: (Male, any ethnicity, age 18-28) Though he is loyal, he has romantic feelings for his best friend Kelsey, who is female.
Auditions will take place 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Overtime Theater located at 5409 Bandera Road Suite 205 on the city's Northwest Side.
Rehearsals will be weekdays from 7-9 p.m. April 11-May 5, 2022.
Production dates are Fridays and Saturdays May 6-14, 2022.
Actors must present two, short contrasting monologues and be prepared to read sides from the play. Headshots and resumes may be brought to the audition or can be emailed in advance to Jessica Roberts at director@theovertimetheater.org. Please write “Just Friends'' in the subject line.
If unable to attend the audition, Zoom auditions are available by appointment from April 6-9, 2022.
