Auditions for a role in Twelfth Night, or What You Will with Austin Shakespeare on Sep 04 through Sep 12.

Auditions for Equity and non-Equity actors for Austin Shakespeare’s fall production of Bollywood-inspired “Twelfth Night”.

Please send a short (appx 1 minute) video of a Shakespeare speech. You can schedule an in-person audition for Saturday Sept. 11 between 1 pm -3 pm. Sides can be requested.

Rehearsals will be weekends and weeknight evenings starting October 4. Performances at the Long Center’s Rollins Theatre from November 4-Nov. 21 , 2021, Thursdays thru Saturday nights and Sunday matinees.

All rehearsals will be in-person with social distancing and masking. Especially interested in MENASA (Middle Eastern, South Asian, North African) actors, but all are welcome. Some singing and dancing skills are a plus! No transportation or housing is available for non-Austin Actors.

Some pay. Non-Equity actors can gain Equity Membership Candidate points.

Roles:

 

Viola - a shipwrecked young lady, later disguised as a young man named Cesario.

Sebastian – Viola's twin brother, supposedly drowned in the shipwreck, but actually alive and visiting Illyria.

Olivia – a wealthy countess

Maria – Olivia's comic gentlewoman

Sir Toby Belch – Olivia's comic uncle

Sir Andrew Aguecheek – comic character, a rich man who Sir Toby brings to be Olivia's wooer

Feste – the clown, or jester, of Olivia's household

Fabian – a servant and friend to Sir Toby

Antonio – a captain and friend to Sebastian

Valentine and Curio – two gentlemen attending on the Duke

A Servant of Olivia

Captain of the Wrecked Ship – friend to Viola

 

Tamil Periasamy will play Orsino. Sangeetha Ekambaram will sing and dance as our “muse.”  Directed by Ann Ciccolella; Choreography: Prakash Mohandras; music by Nagavalli.
