Universally crowd-pleasing and uplifting, ON YOUR FEET! is a celebration of greatest hits that will have audiences dancing in the aisles. Featuring “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Live For Loving You,” “Conga,” and many more, ON YOUR FEET! is a portrait of a legendary artist that reveals fierce determination and visionary creativity matched with the exhilarating energy of the Miami Sound Machine.


On Your Feet! - auditions January 6th & 7th, 7 pm

Dance audition will begin promptly at 7 pm, singing auditions will follow.  Actors should prepare 16-32 bars from a song appropriate to the style of the show. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No tracked music or a cappella singing will be allowed. No need to sign up for an audition time, just show up a little before. Please bring a head shot and resume if you have one. Auditions are only for ages 16 and up and will receive a small stipend for being in the show.  

 **The two youth roles will be chosen from the Woodlawn Theatre Academy at a later date**

Any performer that is being considered for the role of Gloria Estefan will automatically be included in our “Search for Gloria” audition process and live show performed in front of an audience and judges. Callbacks for this will be on Jan 8th and 11th and the live show will be on Jan 13th.

Rehearsals begin Feb 3rd. Show runs March 20 – April 13. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. On March 21 there is a 2 pm and 7:30 pm show. Missing performances will not be allowed. This show will rehearse Saturdays and Monday – Thursday for the first few weeks.

Character Breakdown

Gloria Estefan (Lead): Female, 20-30 - Cuban; initially shy, opens up as the story progresses; becomes an icon; sharp sense of humor; good actress, star quality; must speak fluent Spanish and sing and move well. Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Emilio Estefan (Lead): Male, 30-40 - Cuban; confident; handsome; sometimes stumbles over his emotions and his English; loyal. Leading man with character; must speak fluent Spanish and sing well. Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Gloria Fajardo (Lead): Female, 50-60 - Cuban; Gloria’s mother; brassy; strong willed; Latin matriarch; survivor; biting humor; must speak fluent Spanish and sing well. Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Consuelo (Lead): Female, 65-75 - Cuban; Gloria’s Grandmother; Cuban stage mother; sometimes an apparition; wise; loving; warm; Gloria’s guardian angel; must speak fluent Spanish and be able to carry a tune. Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Ensemble- Male and Female - The On Your Feet Ensemble is diverse group of strong dancers and singers that will play multiple roles throughout the show. Featured roles will be chosen from the Ensemble (Jose Fajardo, Rebecca Fajardo, Phil).

The following roles will be chosen from the Woodlawn Academy students at a later date:

Young Gloria (Lead): Female, 10-12 - Cuban; innocent, but smart and self-reliant; slightly sad, but always full of hope; must speak fluent Spanish and sing well. Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Young Emilio/Nayib (Lead): Male, 8-12 - Emilio as a boy and Nayib Gloria’s son; must be a strong dancer; must speak fluent Spanish and does not need to sing. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities
