We welcome experienced professional actors by appointment only; actors who have not yet auditioned for this season. Shakespeare’s Merry Wives will be performed in Zilker Hillside Theater May 3-27. Actors of all ethnicities are welcome; rehearsals evenings and weekends in April.
Auditioners should prepare a 1 to 2 minute piece of heightened language; can include pieces from Merry Wives. Audition speeches should be memorized or read with familiarity.
On occasion, Austin Shakespeare uses cross-gender casting. Also, age range noted in character descriptions is a matter of appearance. Auditioners should always familiarize themselves with the plays they are auditioning for. All roles open. Austin Shakespeare’s professionally directed and designed; all actors are paid.
