PETER AND THE WOLF World Premiere --Featuring Austin’s own MOTHER FALCON!
Written and directed by Caroline Reck Enjoyable for all ages. The world premiere of Lionheart Youth Theatre’s stage adaptation of Peter and the Wolf. Join us for this modern adaptation of the original tale, with captivating, large-scale puppetry set to a new musical score written and performed by Universal Recording Artists Mother Falcon, one of Austin’s most talked about bands recently described by NPR Music as “sweepingly majestic.” This adaptation is written and directed by the celebrated puppeteer, Caroline Reck of Glass Half Full Theatre. Produced by Emily Marks. A new take on a classic tale that is uniquely Austin – not to be missed! |
Glass Half Full Theater has been dabbling in theater for all ages recently, creating adaptations of Once There Were Six Seasons and Cenicienta (Cinderella) this year that scored us an invitation to the National Puppetry Festival and the New Play Award from Austin Critics Table, as well as wins from B. Iden Payne for Outstanding Puppetry, Acting, and Original Composition. We’ve long been dedicated to working with composers to score our original works (White Ghost Shivers, Adam Sultan, Ammon Taylor).

From writer & director Caroline Reck:
A puppetry performance company (Glass Half Full Theatre) that's all about collaboration. A musical collective (Mother Falcon) that's all about collaboration. A brand-new youth theater (Lionheart Youth Theatre) that's all about getting great artists together to make wonderful work for the young and young at heart. All of this at Stateside at the Paramount Theatre. DECEMBER 11th - 13th ONLY. Featuring "winner of all possible 2015 acting awards" Gricelda Silva as Peter (well, Petra, because hello! It's 2015). Acclaimed puppeteer Connor Hopkins as the Wolf. Also featuring Glass Half Full Theatre stalwart Katy Taylor as the bird, recently relocated Minneapolis puppeteer Kevin Long as Grandpa, film genius and killer puppeteer Theresa Danko as the cat, and amazing actress and recent puppetry convert (she's real good, y'all) Indigo Rael as the duck in one of the best casting decisions of my lifetime.
