Over the River and through the Woods
Jun. 06 - Jun. 11, 2016
It’s no secret that grandparents love their grandchildren. In fact, many Sun City residents moved here to be close to their grandkids. Over the River and Through the Woods is a delightful, heartwarming and funny play about family and the lengths they will go through to keep their family intact.
Grandson Nick, age 29, announces his desire to move to the opposite end of the U.S. for professional advancement. To all four of his grandparents, who have already lost Nick’s sister and parents to distant cities, this announcement makes no sense. The weekly family dinners become a comic dance as the grandparents try everything, including inviting a single young lady, to entice him to stay.
This play was written by Joe DiPietro, (also author of I Love You, Your Perfect, Now Change) and it ran Off Broadway for 800 shows. This production will be directed by Morgan Fogelman. A limited number of seats will be available for sale at the door.
