My Name Was Dorian. . . Dorian Gray
by Overtime Theater

Jul. 15 - Jul. 24, 2016
Fridays-Sundays

An adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, the story takes place in the last hour of Dorian Gray's life, in which he recounts his narcissistic endeavors of his forbidden passions. It is a cautionary tale of his soul's corruption through self-glorification. His destructive karma begins upon his viewing of a painted portrait of himself, with which he falls in love.

Terrified of growing old, Dorian wishes in a fit of distress that his youthful beauty should always remain eternal while the portrait should take on the ugliness of age. Unknowingly, fate grants his wish and Dorians' sould is surrendered to a life of carnal sin which causes the ill-fate and destruction of all those around him. His dark deeds of decadence and depravity ultimately leads him to an irredeemable pathway of self-destruction.
