Behind every scar is a story. Gruesome Playground Injuries tells a different type of love story. The play chronicles Kayleen and Doug's thirty-year relationship from elementary school through adulthood. It's a relationship marked by personal injuries, sometimes horrific, as the action jumps back and forth in five year increments. Will Kayleen and Doug rise above their destructive and self-destructive impulses? Will they end up together in the end?
