Tuck)Austin’s most rockin’ holiday tradition is back by popular demand for the third year in a row. A Christmas Carol plays on stage in the Topfer Theatre November 23 – December 31, 2016 and stars JASTON WILLIAMS of Greater Tuna fame, in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. ZACH Theatre's A Christmas Carol combines new hit songs and reimagined carols with traditional Victorian setting and costumes.

 

Returning to the cast of are MICHAEL VALENTINE (The Who’s Tommy) in the role of Fred; KENNY WILLIAMS (Sophisticated Ladies, The Gospel at Colonus) as The Ghost of Christmas Past; CHANEL HAYNES-SCHWARTZ (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Sophisticated Ladies) as the Ghost of Christmas Present; RODERICK SANFORD (The Gospel at Colonus) as Jacob Marley and Mr. Fezziwig; PAUL SANCHEZ (The Who’s Tommy) as Bob Cratchit; SARA BURKE(Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Winnie the Pooh) as Belle; TYLER JONES (One Man, Two Guvnors) as Young Scrooge; MARIANEL MARQUEZ as Marta Cratchit; KELLY PETLIN as Gwendolyn; and MEGAN RICHARDS WRIGHT as Mrs. Cratchit. LESLIE ANN LEAL, CELESTE CASTILLO, and NICOLAS GARZA return to A Christmas Carol in the ensemble. New to this year’s production are KIM STACY (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, James and the Giant Peach) in the role of Mrs. Fezziwig; VINCENT HOOPER (The Gospel at Colonus) as a Charitable Gentleman; BOYCE TEMPLIN (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as the Ghost of Christmas Future; AIDEN WEN and RYAN GU in the role of Tiny Tim; and D’MARIEL JONES in the ensemble.

 

The children’s ensemble includes BRIDGETTE PETERSON; JAVIER GARCIA (Mary Poppins); ANDERSON ZOLL (Mary Poppins); DIEGO RODRIGUEZ (Charlotte’s Web, Mary Poppins); CHARLIE WELLAND; SCARLET CRAIG (Mary Poppins); DEVON BELL; CAROLYN O'BRIEN; HELENA LANG; ELLI GRACE HODGES; CLAIRE WILCOX; ERIC GU; GEORGIA ORCHID; MERCY BOVIK (Charlotte’s Web); CHRISTIAN HOOTEN; and LILAH GUARAGNA (Alice in Wonderland).

 

A Christmas Carol is Adapted and Directed by ZACH Theatre Producing Artistic Director DAVE STEAKLEY with Musical Direction by ALLEN ROBERTSON. CHRISTA OLIVER is the Choreographer with BOB LAVALEY as Scenic Designer, SUSAN BRANCH TOWNE as Costume Designer and SERRET JENSEN as Hair and Makeup Designer. SARAH MAINES is the Lighting Designer with CRAIG BROCK as the Sound Designer, STEVE BAGLIO as the Properties Designer and CATHERINE ANNE TUCKER as the Stage Manager.

Run Time: Approximate two hours and 20 minutes including one intermission.

Tickets start at $25 and are available online at www.zachtheatre.org, by phone at 512-476-0541 ext. 1, or in person at the ZACH Theatre Box Office, in the Topfer Theatre, 202 South Lamar Blvd. (corner of Riverside Drive and South Lamar Blvd.) Monday through Saturday12 noon – 5 p.m.  ZACH Theatre is wheelchair accessible.  Discounts are available for groups of 8 or more. Student Rush Tickets are $18 one hour before show time (with valid ID). Wednesdayevenings and Saturday matinees feature arts industry professional pricing.
