In Spite of All the Roses
by Wild She Dances
Oct. 15 - Oct. 17
Thursday-Saturday
In Spite of All the Roses is set in a 1950s parlour.
Each night, audiences of no more than 20 follow seven women through the hidden corners of their lives: a housewife's kitchen, a daughter's desk, a happening bar. Beneath the gleam of the post-war era is a world of conformity, longing, and quiet resistance. It's funny, haunting, and deeply human.
The performance runs about 75 minutes, with time for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before the show begins. The show is intimate and interactive: audiences are guided through the space, encounter different scenes and in different orders, and may find themselves alone with a performance, ensuring no two guests have the same experience.
The cast features local artists Cellise Brown, Andie Duong, Katie Jones, Morgan Phillips, Valentina Reyes, Alexzandria Turley, and myself.
