Hedwig and the Angry Inch
by The Theatre Company (TTC)
Jun. 25 - Jun. 27
Thursday-Saturday
Hedwig and the Angry Inch follows Hedwig, a queer East German rock singer-songwriter who survived a botched sex-change operation and immigrated to the U.S. While touring dive bars and small theatres, Hedwig tells her life story with wit and glitter while pursuing a rock star ex-lover who stole her songs. Through glam-rock anthems and darkly comic monologues, Hedwig recounts her journey from East Berlin to a trailer park in Kansas, ultimately finding redemption through self-acceptance rather than the love or fame she's been chasing.
Rick Pulos will direct with Bran Kempf playing the internationally ignored song stylist . Open auditions will be held for Yitzhak, Hedwig’s husband and back-up singer.
Rick previously directed 1776: The Musical and designed projections for our 2023 production of CABARET. He's excited to bring Hedwig to the Brazos Valley. Rick said, "Hedwig is a witty and powerful show about one of the most fascinating characters in all of American musical history. With a punk rock aesthetic and attitude, Hedwig will have you laughing, crying, and thinking about what it means to be an American."
