Walking Shadow Shakespeare Project is thrilled to announce a night of three short plays inspired by Shakespeare. The evening will feature new works: I Loved You Ever by Pablo Muñoz-Evers (he/him) and Puck, in Epilogue by Amber Elby (she/her) as well as a new adaptation of a classic: Macbeth, But He’s Just A Sword.

I Loved You Ever, directed by Kennedy Thompson (she/they), features Andrew Springer (any/all) as Hamlet, Divine Ntomchukwu (he/him) as Laertes, and Laura D’Eramo (she/her) as Yorick. This emotionally captivating piece takes a moment of Hamlet out of time as Hamlet and Laertes examine their feelings for one another and the barriers between their love. It has humor, heart, and hope - three guiding principles that sometimes fight each other and sometimes are wrapped up in the same line.

Macbeth, But He’s Just A Sword, directed by Andrew Solis (he/him), features a sword Macbeth voiced by Kyle Romero (he/him) controlled by Kaylynn Yarelle (they/them) as Lady Macbeth and the three fate-spinning witches: Samantha Plumb (she/her), Juni Nguyen (she/they), and Mayuri Raja (she/her). Filling out the cast are Lee Vineyard (he/they) as Macduff, Martha Neil (they/them) as Malcolm, Angela Adams (she/her) as Duncan, Sadie Okerstrom (she/her) as Ross, Julien Hemmendinger (he/him) as Banquo, and Oak Novielli (he/any) as Lennox.

Puck, in Epilogue, directed by Mike Crugnola (he/him), features Stephanie Crugnola (she/her) as Puck. After the final soliloquy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the hobgoblin Puck has some questions for the audience - and even more for himself. As he grapples with consequences, pride, and love, will Puck finally find himself, or will he be doomed to repeat his prior misdeeds?

 

About Walking Shadow Shakespeare Project

Walking Shadow is a non-profit 501(c)(3) theatre company whose mission is to unite classical texts with a contemporary community through innovative and accessible productions, social events and educational opportunities. We performed our first production Much Ado About Nothing in 2011 in Massachusetts, and since then have mounted full Shakespearean productions across three states, hosted Zoom performances through lockdown, developed one-rehearsal and interactive education show formats, and brought our communities together through community events and workshops.

Accessibility: We’ll be offering ASL interpretation on 3/6 and Live English Captioning and Audio Description on 3/7 at 2pm. All indoor performances offer Air Purifiers, free masks, free fidget cubes, and summary materials in English and Spanish.
