Two murder mysteries featuring Cornelia Sherwood, a famous mystery novelist living in post-World War II Hollywood, and her assistant Eunice as they try to stay alive and determine who the murderer is!
Acts of Murder is really two plays, both murder mysteries featuring the brilliant Cornelia Sherwood and her assistant Eunice as they solve murders in Hollywood in 1948. Whitney Ryan Garrity, who wrote the hilarious All About Christmas Eve which was performed at the Overtime for Christmas of 2023, has created a dynamite detective in Cornelia Sherwood and given audiences two stories featuring her to boot!

Whitney Ryan Garrity is originally from the NJ/NYC area and has been a published and produced playwright for the past 30 years. He has written melodramas, murder mysteries, comedies, children's plays, and musicals. Garrity currently has 21 published plays, represented by 4 publishing houses. His work has been presented across the United States, as well as Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the Republic of China. Garrity is also an accomplished performer and director. He currently resides in Lubbock, Texas where he is one of the Artists in Residence at Lubbock Community Theatre.
The play is directed by Trisch Moy. Trisch is a former middle and high school theatre teacher. She’s done several plays with the Overtime including 13 Rosesand Murder She Barked: A Debbie Dogwalker Mystery. She lives with her husband, son and their 5 rescue animals.
