Write What You Know
by Overtime Theater

Feb. 17 - Mar. 11, 2023
Fridays-Saturdays

(via Overtime Theatre)An alcoholic playwright dealing with quirky friends and writer’s block is told to “write what he knows.” So, he writes a play about a writer with writer’s block and quirky friends. And then the quirky friends start reading it.

Playwright Dr. Chip Bohle is a general dentist in West Kentucky and has been involved in community theater since 1987. He has over 50 credits as a playwright, director and an actor. Currently, he is the director for murder mystery dinner shows for Paducah Kentucky’s award-winning Market House Theatre.

Director Rob Barron likens this show to a 1970’s sitcom. “A group of characters thrown together and not always the nicest people? Sounds like the set-up for a sitcom to me!” Barron goes on to talk about the play’s setting and theme – “Setting the play in New York in the 1970’s gives us a great backdrop to deal with the underlying themes of loss and addiction in a way that everyone can enjoy!”

Due to certain themes and some adult language, this show may not be appropriate for younger children.
