Nason has worked at a Dubai hotel for several months and realizes, unhappily, that there's a discrepancy between Anglo staff and those of color. While she tries earnestly to redress the balance between the differential treatment of management and workers, Old Haj, the inscrutable Indian gardener, finds a surprising, understated, and eminently rewarding way to take care of the matter—at least, for him. A funny, thought-provoking solo piece about a silly Englishwoman living abroad, and trying to make sense of it.
