Sorry! Wrong Chimney
Dec. 17 - Dec. 19, 2021
Well what’s Christmas without a little comedy?
With a Santa burglar on the loose, we can all catch some much-needed laughs in between the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Tickets are now on sale for this weekend’s theater production of “Sorry! Wrong Chimney!” The live performance is set to debut at the Stephen & Mary Birch Texas Theatre.
Co-Director Sheila Lucas says you won’t to miss this year’s holiday production about a few “merry mix-ups between neighbors.” She says after not being able to perform last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this cast, and crew are excited to be returning to stage.
“It’s called ‘Sorry! Wrong Chimney!’ laughs Lucas. “It’s by Jack Sharkey who is a well-known comic writer. It is a delightful farce. There’s nothing heavy in it. It’s just fun from top to bottom. Children are welcome of course. We have our curtain carolers. Our little ones will be singing before the show and at each intermission and it’s just going to be a delightful evening. It’s a laugh a minute.
"It’s got some very fine acting and they are all comedians. We can hardly get through a rehearsal without busting out laughing at each other. That’s how fun it is. We are having a blast and we are all so grateful to be back on stage at the Texas and with a live audience. It’s been way too long for a Christmas show so we are delighted to be back,” said Lucas.
Lucas says there is not a more perfect cast for this show. Although there are new cast members, Lucas says most will be familiar faces.
“It’s a first time at The Texas for David Giminiana. He is an actor who has worked in Wimberly and has worked in New Braunfels and he is our lead and he is wonderful – such a dynamic actor but a comedian. Oh, my goodness. So fun and he is the only one who hasn’t worked at The Texas on our stage before,” said Lucas. “Mary Jane Windle, Will Windle and we are thrilled that Johanna Bain Johnson is coming back to us for Christmas, Denise Crettenden – Travis Cox who is just out of his mind as you well know. It’s just a very fun cast and Shane Carter who is also a very fine comedian and so we’ve just got a bunch of local nut cases in this show. It’s wonderful.”
Credit also goes to Co-director Pat Hoppe who is also helping Lucas piece together this holiday favorite.
Curtain carolers also include Eleanor Crettenden, Mary Hanson, Jackson Just, Presley Just, Lyla Lopez, Caleb Pape and Jake Schultze.
