Cendrillon (Cinderella)
by Texas State University Department of Theatre, Dance and Film

Mar. 26 - Mar. 29, 2020
Thursday-Sunday

The story of Cinderella is a cultural touchstone, immortalized in film, literature and — thanks to French composer Jules Massenet — opera. His Cendrillon is a 19th-century take on the fairy tale, and an absolute delight in a genre dominated by heart-wrenching tragedies.

Join us for an evening of dreams, magic, fun, and gorgeous music as we retell the classic fairytale set in 1950's splendor and with the unique telling of the story that includes elements from Perrault's 1698 version of the Cinderella fairy tale that will surprise even the most dedicated Cinderella fan. Sung in French with English Subtitles.

Dr. Marc Reynolds, Director of Opera Theater
Dr. Jacob Harrison, Conductor Director
Allison Price, Production Co-Stage Director
