Greg and Kate are excited to be living in Manhattan after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg’s career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate’s career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. To Kate’s dismay, Greg brings home a dog he found in the park bearing only a battered name tag with the name “Sylvia”.   Can this marriage be saved? And can Sylvia ever become a real member of the family?  You’ll find out in this touching and laugh-filled“romantic” comedy.

We're offering something a little bit different for the Valentine's season to start Season 2020. A.R. Gurney's special comedy Sylvia is all about our relationships with "man's best friend" - dogs!
 
P2K presented Sylvia in 2004 to enthusiastic audiences, and we're thinking it will be just as popular this time around.
 
The cast includes some new faces, including Judd Vermillion as leading man "Greg" (some will recognize Judd's name as the Scenic Designer who created amazing sets for Carousel, Witness for the Prosecution, Our Town and others) his wife, Louise Vermillion as "Phyllis" and Amy Best playing "Leslie."
 
P2K veterans in the cast include Barbara French as Greg's Wife, "Kate," Justin Radkiewicz as "Tom," and Michele Vanfossen in the role of "Sylvia," the stray dog that Greg brings into their lives.
 
And, speaking of veterans, we're very glad to welcome back Sandy Lewis, who'll reprise her role as Stage Manager for Sylvia, and Hill Country Arts Foundation Executive Director Sarah Derousseau - who played "Sylvia" for us before - as the Stage Director.
