IT’S TIME FOR ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL’S ANNUAL MUSICAL, THE 1950’S BROADWAY HIT AND CLASSIC FAVORITE
An instant hit when it opened on Broadway in 1950, “Guys and Dolls” won all the major Tony awards and has been a classic favorite on stages across America ever since. Enjoy musical comedy at its best as more than 100 cast and crew members present “Guys and Dolls” for four glorious performances, January 23rd -26th at the Anderson High School Theater. Featuring a full orchestra, dazzling songs by Frank Loesser, a cast of lovable gamblers, grifters, hot box dancers and missionaries who take us from 1930’s Broadway to Havana and back again in a sassy and clever tale about what happens when high rollers meet holy rollers. The book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows is based on the popular stories of Damon Runyon who wrote about the fringe folks of Times Square.
“GUYS AND DOLLS” - Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
Loesser’s beautiful score includes “Fugue for Tinhorns,” “Luck be a Lady,” “A Bushel and Peck,” and the show stopper “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”
