Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch
by ACT Theatre Company (Atascosa County Troupe)

Nov. 08 - Nov. 17, 2019
Fridays-Sundays

ACT Theatre opens its 45th season with the melodrama Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch or ...The Perfumed Badge by Shubert Fendrich The very first play performed by ACT at Cowboy Homecoming in 1974, this outrageously funny play takes place in the lobby of the Roaring Gulch Hotel at the end of the 19th century, where the hero, Harry Heartstone, is found in hot pursuit of the villain, Snipe Vermin. Here the story takes an unusual turn because the villain and hero are twin brothers.

There are many other characters in this old fashioned western melodrama, including Willie Lovelace, the lady sheriff of Roaring Gulch; the Widow Black, evil proprietress of the Roaring Gulch Hotel; Martha Muldoon, a stranded actress; and Bill Filbert, the nutty sidekick of Snipe Vermin.

This is a blazing, rip-roaring, pistol packing comedy that is for young and old alike . Audience participation is welcome and are encouraged to cheer the hero and boo the villain and even throw popcorn.
