Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story
by Georgetown Palace Theatre
Oct. 11 - Nov. 10
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story tells the true story of Buddy’s meteoric rise to fame, from the moment in 1957 when ‘That’ll Be The Day’ hit the airwaves until his tragic death less than two years later on “The Day The Music Died”. The show features over 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits including ‘That’ll Be The Day’, ‘Peggy Sue’, ‘Everyday’, ‘Oh Boy’, ‘Not Fade Away’, ‘Rave On’ and ‘Raining in my Heart’, plus Ritchie Valens’ ‘La Bamba’ and The Big Bopper’s ‘Chantilly Lace’. The incredible legacy of the young man with glasses, whose musical career spanned an all-too-brief period during the golden days of rock & roll, continues to live on in Buddy.
Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story continues its great run live at the Historic Palace Theatre in Georgetown for three more weekends with Saturday matinees added (Oct. 25-27, Nov. 1-3, and Nov. 8-10). Here’s your chance to re-live Buddy’s story and dance in the aisles to the very best of Buddy Holly's great hits! This show is rockin’ the house – and we want you to be in on it! Join us for this amazing concert event on the Palace’s Springer Memorial Stage featuring over 20 of Buddy’s songs (played and sung live on stage by the actors), including Peggy Sue, That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Everyday, Maybe Baby, and Raining In My Heart.
Buddy Holly’s brief life has become the stuff of legend. Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story is a celebration of the life and times of the young man with spectacles; the show catches that unique mixture of innocence, determination, humor, and charm that was Buddy Holly. Lannie Hilboldt is both Director & Music Director for the Palace production; choreography is by Jesee Smart. This could be your last opportunity to see Ben Blaise reprise the role of Buddy Holly – and he is terrific!
