Sam Phillips was the founder of Sun Records and Sun Studio, in Memphis, Tennessee, where he produced recordings by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. He launched Presley's career in 1954.
On December 4, 1956 an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records for what would be an incredible jam session. The historical night resulted in one of the most epic recordings ever.
