Mad Scenes
by Texas State University Department of Theatre, Dance and Film
Oct. 18 - Oct. 21, 2018
Thursday-Sunday
The Texas State University Opera Theatre presents its first production of the year, Mad Scenes. Witness the madness of humanity in a collection of scenes from Broadway to opera and from comedy to tragedy. Scenes will include numbers from Don Quichotte, The Last Five Years, Dialogues of the Carmelites, The Light in the Piazza, The Elixir of Love, and more! The Opera Theatre is proudly joined by members of the Comedy Association of Texas State, who will keep the audience laughing between the scenes.
“It’s going to be a fantastic combination of beautiful singing, moving acting, and lots of laughs. Whether you are new to opera, looking for live entertainment for your family, or if you are an opera aficionado, this show is for you!” says Dr. Marc Reynolds, Director of Opera Studies at Texas State. This production will mark the first with Reynolds at the helm.
