Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play
by Texas State University Department of Theatre, Dance and Film
Oct. 02 - Oct. 07, 2018
Tuesday-Sunday
Texas State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play written by Anne Washburn, score by Ashleigh Stone, and lyrics by Anne Washburn. The show is under the direction of graduate student, Isaac Byrne. The production opens October 2 and runs until October 7 in the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre.
Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play is the story of survival and reinvention of civilization in a post-apocalyptic world. What stories would we tell to keep society from vanishing? Is it possible that the memory of The Simpsons could become a kind of cultural currency? Anne Washburn’s intriguing comedy explores the interplay between technological collapse, pop culture and our drive to survive.
