Blood Brothers
by San Marcos Spotlight Theatre

Apr. 21 - May. 06, 2017
Fridays-Saturdays

The Price Center is pleased to announce San Marcos Spotlight Theatre’s upcoming production of Blood Brothers, a Rock Musical. It was written by Willy Russell, author of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine. It opened in London’s West End at the Lyric Theatre in 1983 to critical acclaim, and subsequently won Olivier Awards for Best New Musical and Best Actress. Since then, Blood Brothers has accumulated a host of other awards—including six TONY nominations—and has become one of the longest running musicals in the West End.

The production is being staged in the Price Center’s historic 1910 Room, home to numerous local theatrical, cinematic, musical, and other arts and cultural events each year. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity host a production of this caliber,” said Clay Destefano, Price Center Executive Director.

Director Karin Cunningham is fortunate to have cast some of the area’s most accomplished and talented local actors/singers, including Kevin Gates as the Narrator, Denton Collie as Mickey, James Pearce as Edward, Lindsey Burnett as Mrs. Lyons, Madison Tatman as Linda, and Bridget Farias-Gates as Mrs. Johnstone. Filling out the multiple-role ensemble are Dusty Derrick, Jason Foreman, William Goss, Karl Morton, Lisa Pitcher, Leah Pullin, and Stephanie Pearce.

Mark your calendar for one of the six performances so you don’t miss this amazing cast as they bring this compelling and poignant tale of Blood Brothers to the Price Center stage.
