  • Plays should be between 10-15 minutes in length (approximately 10-15 pages), not including cover page and character descriptions.

  • Each play should include a maximum of three (3) characters.
  •  
  • Plays should be unpublished and unproduced at the time of submission. Previous staged readings will not disqualify a script.

  • Submissions will be blind (no identifying information on the script itself). Cover pages will be submitted separately via the form.

  • Submissions must be in .docx or .pdf format.

  • One submission per playwright.

  • Submission window: Jan 26 - March 1, 2024.

  • Panel of readers will include board members of Sam Bass Theatre Association.

  • Playwrights should expect to receive notification of their status in the festival via email by April 1.

  • Selected plays will receive staged readings at Sam Bass Theatre in Round Rock, TX on Saturday, May 18, 2024 (Time TBD).

Those near and far can support Sam Bass Theatre Association in their latest adventure: The 10-Minute Play Festival!

Due to the loss of their space, I'll be hosting this event outside in the beautiful beer garden at 5th Element Brewing in Leander, TX. (Many thanks to the fabulous folks there, including Mike Brune!)These staged readings of six brand spankin' new plays by fantastic playwrights from across the country were chosen from 249 submissions. They'll be read aloud in staged readings by a fantastic team of actors including Denise Garza Wasner, Peg Patrone, Bethany Watkin, Michael Lovestrong, Pat McElhinney, Joshua N Hancock, and Marissa Villarreal.

The readings begin at 7 pm on Saturday, May 18!

Bring a picnic or get some food onsite from whatever awesome food truck majestically appears, grab a beer from this fantastic local brewery (or a different beverage of your choice), and support the arts in our community!
